Each student competitor has 45 minutes to execute the best overall fade and style haircut LIVE on stage with barber coach. Cut must incorporate scissors and clippers, MLBarber is looking for gentlemen cuts: Combover, Pomps, Tapers, Straight Part, etc. Low Or Mid Fade Is Allowed! Judges will be focusing on, cleanliness, fade, style, precision, technique, finish.

The Best Bald Fade Champion

Time: 12pm – 12:30pm

Each competitor has 30 minutes. Haircut model must have a #2 or equivalent on the top before competition begins. The top must be taken down to a MINIMUM of 1½ . Longer hair and scissor techniques are welcome. Judges will be focusing on, cleanliness, fade, style, precision, technique, finish.

Contestants will have 60 minutes to complete their best creative cut/style. The haircut can be a fade, design of your choice. You are allowed the use of a “hot tool” such as a curling iron, straightener, blow dryer, etc. This is your chance to have full creativity on your model. Have fun and play with the haircut, color, style wardrobe! The finished overall “HAIRCUT” will be judged.

The Lady Barber Competitors will have 50 minutes to complete The BEST HAIRCUT! You Must execute your Best Fade and/or Best Creative Cut of your choice. You are allowed the use of a “Hot Tool” such as a curling iron, straightener, blow dryer, etc. This is your chance to have Full Transparency & Creativity on your model. The finished overall “BEST HAIRCUT” will be judged.

Judges will be focusing on, Creativity, Cleanliness of Fade, Color, Style, Precision, Technique and Finish.

Fastest & Cleanest Braids

Time: 12pm – 1:00pm

This Competition is where you can show your skills, bring your A-Game and speed with your fingers and comb. Must be completed in 60 mins or less. Hair must be untouched completely, (not parted, no prepping, etc. All work must be done during the competition.

The finished overall “BRAIDS” will be judged. Judges will be focusing on: creativity, cleanliness, & design.

*The First competitor to finish will receive bonus points*

GENERAL RULES FOR ALL CATEGORIES

All categories are open to all barbers and cosmetologists.
Each competitor must provide a live model. (Their admission included in entry fee.)
All competitors must check-in at the registration area at least two hours prior to the competition to allow makeup time on model. If a competitor is late, they will forfeit their place and their paid entry fee.
All participants (competitors and models) must sign a release form for photos & videos.
A competition briefing will be provided in the competition arena prior to the competition to ensure all have a good understanding of the rules and procedures.
All competitors and models must remain in the competition arena until the judges announce their decision.
There is no dispute process for the judging of this competition.
Competitors are to bring their own tools and products including capes, combs, clips, shears, clippers, spray bottles with water, brushes, blow dryers, irons, styling products, etc.
Dye and Fiber enhancements is allowed in ALL CATEGORIES except for THE BEST BALD FADE.
Enhancement must look natural.
